We are a long established hairdressing salon in the heart of Hitchin
Starting with a free professional consultation, right through to a perfect finish, providing you with aftercare advice on how to maintain that salon look at home.
Talent’s is an independent hair salon that has been in the hairdressing business for over 30 years. Tracie, who is now the owner of the Salon has been with Talents for over 20 years and has enjoyed a long full career as a stylist, senior stylist, manager and now Salon Director. We pride ourselves on being friendly welcoming and vibrant. Your comfort and satisfaction is of great importance to us, and we have a fantastic team of highly trained staff to make that happen.
Each team member brings their own unique talents to make the salon one of a kind, from our senior stylists with many years of experience to our hard working apprentices who are eager to learn, and our amazing reception staff offering first class customer service. All of our personalities and skill-sets complement each other, therefore creating an amazing dynamic team, making your experience here at Talents one to remember.

Giving back to the community
Being an independent salon we have always been very keen to get involved with raising money for local charities as well as larger ones.
We are big supporters of Children With Cancer and often sell homemade cards as well as seasonal items in the salon and all proceeds go to the charity. We are known at talents to not shy away from fancy dress and have held many days where the staff have dressed up for the day to also raise money.
We are a local bra bank collecting unwanted bras to help breast cancer research. Some of the bras are sent to third world countries and the rest are donated and weighed with the proceeds going to the charity.
We try to get involved with as many events in our local town as possible, you will always find one of girls running the pancake race! We love to help promote and support all local businesses and often give out gift vouchers as prizes for local fund raising events.
One of our special services we offer is for the Little Princess Trust. Anyone wanting to donate their long hair to this worthy cause is encouraged to come visit us. We do not charge for this as we feel it’s a selfless and honourable act to do and we like to make a fuss of the person donating and make it easy by sending off the hair ourselves. All hair that is sent off is then made into wigs for young children who have lost their hair.
After 8 years of working with LPT, we would love to thank everyone who has come along to help us support this charity by having their hair cut off. We have sent off many metres of hair over the years. We are proud of everyone’s efforts providing hair for young peoples wigs. However, we now feel it is time to support a new charity. So unfortunately, we are unable to continue cutting hair for the princess trust but continue to wish them all the best for the future. xx
Onto the next chapter. Cancer Hair Care here we come !!!
On the 4th February Salon Director Tracie Morgan, after growing her hair for two years, decided to do a sponsored head shave. With the support of clients, friends, and family Tracie managed to raise over £3000 for Cancer Hair Care. Whilst having the whole event filmed by Cancer Hair Care to make an educational video on how to shave your own head.
From April 2024 Hair by Talents Hitchin will become a Cancer Hair Care Ambassador salon. Providing a comfortable, safe environment every other Wednesday afternoon with trained professionals to help with all your hair advice / non-hair advice needs.
Another service that we pride ourselves on is offering free shampoo’s and blow dries for any person who has undergone any type of operation that restricts them from being able to do this themselves.
We work alongside North Hertfordshire College offering work experience placements for some students studying Hairdressing. This then gives the students the opportunity to see how a busy salon is run on a day to day basis.

We have 2 levels of Goldwell trained stylists ready to create your new look. All of our stylists receive in house training as well as attending Goldwell Academy training courses in London, to keep up with all the latest trends.
